First call of new EU-China Research and Innovation Co-Funding Mechanism published

The first call on the EU-China Co-Funding Mechanism has been published by the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST). With this initiative MOST will support higher education institutions, research institutes and enterprises that are legally established in Chinese territory and are partners in Horizon 2020 projects.

This first call has a budget of 200 million RMB or 28 million euro and covers a variety of thematic areas including food, agriculture, biotechnology, information and communication technology, space, aviation, energy, health, transportation, water resources, energy conservation, advanced manufacturing, new materials, sustainable urbanization, and exchanges of young scientists.

Interested organisations can apply to MOST with two deadlines: 31 March for Chinese applicants successfully selected in a call of the Horizon 2020 Work Programme 2014/2015, and 31 July 2016 for areas open to China in the Horizon 2020 Work Programme 2016/2017 whith deadlines prior to 31 July 2016 (in case of Horizon 2020 calls with two-stage deadlines, this deadline covers only those proposals that have passed stage one evaluation and have submitted stage two proposals prior to 31 July 2016).
