Participants discussed approaches which give cities easy access to fresh, safe and healthy food, benefiting local producers and contributing to local economic development. The workshop was designed to stimulate ideas and actions aimed at building innovative food systems and supply chains that can connect producers and consumers. The multi-actor event brought together around 80 participants from 20 different countries, including representatives from city authorities, farming organisations, food entrepreneurs, the European Commission, and university researchers.
